Welcome to Pre-K at St. Patrick School where your child’s faith, wonder, and love of learning begin to take root.

At St. Patrick School, we believe the early years are a sacred time to nurture your child’s heart, mind, and spirit. In our Pre-K program, your child will be welcomed into a joyful, faith-filled environment where learning is hands-on, play is purposeful, and every child is known and loved.

Your child will grow through developmentally appropriate, center-based activities that support the whole child—spiritually, socially, emotionally, and academically. Each day, your child will:

  • Deepen their relationship with God through prayer, Scripture, and living out Gospel values.

  • Develop a love for reading through engaging books and language-rich experiences.

  • Build early math skills through play, exploration, and problem-solving.

  • Learn to be part of a caring community by practicing kindness, cooperation, and respect

At St. Patrick School, we don’t just prepare your child for Kindergarten, we prepare them for a lifelong journey of faith and learning. As a Pre-K student, your child begins building relationships and routines that can carry them confidently through 8th grade. This continuity provides a strong foundation, a consistent learning environment, and a close-knit community that supports your child at every stage.

We value our partnership with you as we work together to help your child grow in faith, character, and academic confidence—from their very first school experience through middle school graduation.

+ MATHEMATICS

We use the hands-on curriculum Everyday in Pre-K: Math to actively engage students in recognizing numbers and patterns. The program also introduces foundational concepts in algebraic thinking, geometry, and measurement.

+ LANGUAGE ARTS & HANDWRITING

Our core curriculum, Splash into Pre-K, is a comprehensive, activity-based program designed to strengthen listening, speaking, pre-reading, and early writing skills through engaging, developmentally appropriate experiences. For handwriting, we use the Zaner-Bloser program, which helps children develop fine motor skills and master the formation of uppercase letters, while also introducing lowercase letter recognition and printing.

+ SCIENCE

Science is all around us. The discovery of our own five senses, nature’s seasonal changes, the magic of magnets, and the reasons we see rainbows are some of the themes explored in accordance with the Massachusetts State Frameworks. We explore and discover these themes through interactive and child-centered discovery experiences.

+ RELIGION

Our curriculum program, I Am Special, is an interactive felt-board series of stories about Kelly Martin, a preschool student, and her family and friends. Students relate their own life experiences to the weekly lessons in a way that leads to an understanding of God’s love and care for us.

+ SOCIAL STUDIES

Belonging to our family is our first understanding of community. Through field trips and play experiences, we help the children to engage with and understand other community roles and leaders.

+ HEALTH & DRAMATIC ARTS

We are fortunate to participate in physical education, music, and art classes at St Patrick School. These classes add a dimension to our existing music & movement and art curricula. Throughout the day, we engage the students in activities that promote fine and gross motor development.

+ SOCIAL & EMOTIONAL DEVELOPMENT

At St. Patrick School, your child will learn what it means to be safe, kind, and respectful to themselves and to others. Each day, they’ll practice important social skills like listening, taking turns, and using kind words. We help your child develop empathy, manage emotions, and solve problems independently through simple strategies like sharing, deep breathing, and making thoughtful choices. These early lessons in friendship, responsibility, and emotional growth lay a strong foundation for life—in and out of the classroom.
